Hi everyone! How are you all??
I feel so out of it recently, work has been insane for the last six weeks or so and the thought of being on here really hasn’t brought me much joy, but things are looking slightly easier so I’m going to be slowly coming back? I think? I want to interact and support again but I’m still not sure about my writing. Tbh, there’s been no interest in it. Some lovely mutuals have reblogged some stories and I appreciate you guys so much but other than that, I’ve pretty much only seen likes. So right now I guess everything is still on hiatus, I’m not going to stress over stories that there’s no real interest in.

I’m doing kinda okay - lots of work to do at work, lots of insecurity in the past weeks if a certain colleague (we’d definitely need but the bosses were too dumb for a long time to offer him a decent contract and he’s the kind of person who basically goes ‘nope, fuck off I’m out’ in that case) could stay longer than the one year he’s been on secondment, I’ve been thinking I might have caught a cold during the weekend when I’ve got a couple days of starting next week (though I’m feeling fine again…) aaaand I’ll turn 30 next week.
Also found out the amazing second part of a great game series is gonna be released for PC early next year and I’m so much looking forwards to that^^
Ya know the english language is generally fine and all but y'all just don't have decent words for some german essentials
For example I will never not hate the english word for Brötchen
I mean I know if I say either bread roll or bun people are gonna generally understand what I mean but neither of those words actually encompass the full range of german Brötchen

Those are proper Brötchen and calling them bread roll or bun just feels so wrong

Manchmal denke ich mir, es wäre vielleicht nett wenn wir die andern auch reinlassen würden. Aber die haben halt ihr Internetzugangsgenehmigungsantragsformular nicht rechtzeitig eingereicht.
Dem Internetzugangsgenehmigungsantragsformular muss aber auch eine Computerbetriebsgenehmigungsbescheinigung für Privatpersonen beigelegt werden, und das in zweifacher Ausfertigung. Bzw. für jedes internetfähige Gerät muss eine Betriebsgenehmigungsbescheinigung in zweifacher Ausfertigung vorliegen. Und ausserdem muss man auch noch einen Antrag auf Katzenbilderbeschauung stellen, selbst wenn man nicht explizit vorhat sich Bilder von Katzen, bzw. Katzenvideos anzuschauen, weil Katzenbilder und -videos im Internet allgegenwärtig sind.
Das kann für nicht deutsche, bzw. für nicht bürokratieversierte durchaus überwältigend und überfordernd sein.
Es ist natürlich auch darauf zu achten, dass die Katzen über die Verarbeitung und Veröffentlichung ihrer Bilder gemäß Datenschutzgrundverordnung aufgeklärt wurden und ihre schriftliche Zustimmung gegeben haben. Das muss bei Katzen deren Hauptwohnsitz nicht in der EU liegt im Einzelfall in einem individuellen Schnellverfahren (8-12 Monate) nachgeholt werden.
Das Formular kann ausschließlich per Fax oder auf dem Postweg verschickt werden. Per E-Mail eingehende Formulare werden ungeöffnet gelöscht.
Darüber hinaus muss jedes Formular achtfach links gelocht sein und den DIN-Vorgaben 896487, 666666 (für potentiell religiöse Inhalte jeglicher Art) und 696969 (für potentiellen FSK/USK 18+ Inhalt) entsprechen.
Sämtliche Anträge dürfen ab einem Alter von 6 Jahren gestellt werden, in diesem Fall ist eine Kinderinternetbenutzungsgenehmigung von den Eltern zu unterschreiben. Bei Kindern, die vor dem 12. Lebensjahr mindestens 2 Jahre schon im Besitz eines gültigen Internetzugangsgenehmigungsantragsformulars sind bedürfen keines Grundkurses der Internetbenutzung.
Darüber hinaus entfällt der Grundkurs zur Internetbenutzung inklusive einem Intensiv-Benimmkurs der DIN-Normen §130StGB, §86aStGB, §185StGB, §186StGB und §187StGB für Personen, die zum Stichtag 1.1.2010 entweder das 35. Lebensjahr vollendet oder zum genannten Stichtag mindestens 2 Jahre aktive Internetbenutzungserfahrung nachweisen können. (Anders kann man sich die ganzen Arschlöcher im Internet nicht erklären…)
fun fact!! it turns out that now when u make a new blog, tumblr forces you to follow 3-4 people before you can change your icon or modify your blog in any way!! this, of course, means that, yes, some of the "potential bots" many of us have been automatically blocking could have possibly been genuine new users who were only just seconds in to having an account!!! tumblr is literally screwing new users over!!!!
I see this spreading today a lot, rumour that apparently "new users can't add icon, blog description, post or anything without following people first", and that we might have been blocking/reporting new user instead of bots.
THIS IS NOT TRUE!
I don't know why people repost this without testing or checking themselves first. I just signed up for completely new account with new email today (September 15th 2023), and can normally add my icon, banner, description, posts.. or edit blog in any way I want.
This is the new blog I just created and all functions work normally despite my not following anyone @sweetchild5250
I will delete it in few days just wanted the proof. don't believe everything you read without testing folks :) Keep blocking those pesky empty bot accounts :)
I was curious so I actually tested this myself three times. Whether they make you follow people or not is entirely dependent on the sign up method.
If you sign up using email and create a password directly or use an apple account, it does not require you to follow multiple people before setting up your account. You can just go directly to your dashboard, set up your theme, header, icon, etc. without any interference. Then you can follow people.
However, if you sign up using a gmail account, it requires you to follow at least five tags and at least three people. There's not a skip option. After you've finished following people, then you can edit your theme, header, icon, etc. You cannot change or customize your blog in any way until you follow people unless you close the tab and reopen tumblr altogether.
This is a case where both OP and this addition are true but, as I said, it depends on how users are signing up. I'm not really sure why there's entirely different sign up methods like this.
Bot accounts and Real people with accounts.
I’m pretty sure the tumblr community is well aware of this problem and probably loads of other people have already made posts about this, so I’ll keep it brief.
So recently blogs like this keep appearing in my followers list (these are recent ones)
Now when you get a spam blogs or p*rn bots you’re supposed to blog them. But some these blogs are actual people who are new on tumblr and have the default icon, so you’re supposed to check before who block them. But here’s the problem…
some of these blogs don’t have anything. No posts, No description, No title. So you’re gonna automatically assume that these are spam and block them.
Now I hate fact that some of these blogs belong to actual people and I’ve been blocking and reporting on blogs like these for the past few days, and that they’re probably wondering why there being blocked or reported. ( sorry to the people who own blogs like these that I blocked you)
So a couple of tips for new blogs on this site,
1.You could change the title (a catchphrase, a favorite quote, a random sentence etc.) or type small description, or whatever random stuff you like!
2. You could change the your avator or icon (it be a picture of you, a cartoon, again it’s your choice do whatever)
3.If you’re not planning to frequently post stuff and just sign in to check out other people’s stuff, just put a put a post something like this just to show you’re new here.(again u can write down anything)

How to safely get rid of the 'promotional' dashboard clown with uBlock Origin (without needing to open tumblr and look at it)
alternate method to getting rid of the clown on dash for those with intense coulrophobia or unreality triggers, via the uBlock Origin browser extension:
1. Download uBlock Origin here (firefox) or here (chrome)
2. Click on the extension icon, then choose the cog icon
